Getting Started

Welcome to InputSwitcher! This guide will help you get up and running in minutes.

Installation

  1. Download the latest version of InputSwitcher.
  2. Unzip the downloaded file.
  3. Drag InputSwitcher.app to your Applications folder.
  4. Double-click to launch.

Permissions

When you first launch InputSwitcher, you’ll be prompted to grant Accessibility Permissions. This is required for the app to detect which window is active and to switch input sources for you.

  1. Click “Open System Settings” in the prompt.
  2. Toggle the switch next to InputSwitcher to ON.
  3. Enter your system password if requested.

Adding Your First Rule

Once running, you’ll see the InputSwitcher icon in your menu bar.

  1. Click the menu bar icon and select Settings.
  2. Go to the Rule Management tab.
  3. Click the + button.
  4. Select an application from the list (e.g., “Google Chrome”).
  5. Select the input source you want to use for it (e.g., “U.S.”).
  6. Click Save.

Now, whenever you switch to Google Chrome, your input source will automatically change to U.S. English!
